I remember. I was in fourth grade and we watched it on a box tv in school as it happened. It was a terrible moment in time

I was staying at a friend’s, my back had gone out, so I was in a sofa bed in her living room, out of town, watching tv, so I watched it happen in real time. I felt helpless & hopeless. Can’t believe it’s 35 yrs.

Wow I was in 6th grade and remember this.

Wow. A must win for Boise

I remember being in 6th grade science class. We were watching it live on tv. It was devastating. I’ll never forget.

kellnire I was only eight years old but I vividly remember my dad coming home from work asking if we'd already heard that the Challenger exploded. Later, my mom tried to explain to me how quick it hopefully must have been. Turns out it probably wasn't quick at all. That's haunting & sad.

🙏🙏😔

I remember this when I was probably in the 3rd grade & I know they talked it but they didn't go into much detail as to why or anything.

I can’t believe it’s been 35years. I was just a child but I will never forget that day! Sad day for our country and many families!

I remember that very sad day.

My 13 year-old self watched this happen live with my classmates and teacher on a tv in our social studies class. Will never forget that day.

Saw it at the office with co workers on a television someone brought from their home. We were all excited to watch this launch. Then it happened and we were in shock the rest of the day. It was sad.

Sad anniversary. You know what else is sad? Your total failure to report on the meeting at the Trump Hotel the night before the insurrection? Where is your investigative reporting!

I was home caring for my newborn daughter and watched it live. Years later, after returning to college full time to finish my degree, I was one of the first group of Robert McNair Scholars chosen across the country. Challenger McNairScholar NeverForget

Ever since the loss of the Challenger, NASA went through extraordinary steps to make sure that something similar never happens again. President Reagan was scheduled to have State of the Union that night, but the unfortunate tragedy changed those plans.

I remember when the teacher pushed the tv into the classroom for us to watch this. I also remember the screams that followed.

I remember our school assembled outside to watch, then being hurried back indoors. Students were confused, but we somewhat figured out something bad had happened, because teachers were crying. I remember just sitting stunned.

😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

My mom was pregnant with me. She remembers it as if it were yesterday

So sad 😞, then and now

I recall listening to the live radio broadcast in the back of our family friend's Ford Aerostar and not really understanding, but feeling the gravity of the moment and crying.

I will never forget watching it while we were all watching in my bosses office at work. At first no one knew it exploded and when they announced it we were all inconsolable Devastating

independentob10 1.28.2021 I will never forget the Challenger explosion from 35 years ago. A very sad day for me to see it live on TV.

Never forgotten my teacher's reaction; she'd ran out of the classroom in horror; we just looked at each other as if to ask, 'What just happened here?' It wasn't until she'd returned, with tears in her eyes, that we got it; we just watched them die on live national television.

Junior in high school, working on some project in the school library. It was on the television they had set up. Frankly didn't know how to react what I had just seen.
