Police say the victim of an attempted carjacking turned the tables on the armed suspect when he shot him multiple times with a gun he was licensed to carry.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley has the latest details on an attempted carjacking that went awry when the victim shot the assailant.Police say a driver turned the tables on an armed carjacking suspect in North Philadelphia Monday night when he shot the suspect multiple times with a firearm he was licensed to carry.

Officials said a 32-year-old healthcare worker pulled up in front of a home on the 1700 block of West Folsom Street, Monday night, just before midnight. He was meant to be performing a job for a person inside a residence when an 18-year-old male approached the man’s vehicle, at the driver side door and pulled a gun.

The 32-year-old man in the vehicle explained to responding officers he believed he was being robbed. He was in possession of a valid license-to-carry and pulled a firearm, shooting at the 18-year-old through his window and striking the 18-year-old. He fired at least five shots, according to authorities.

But what about protecting your poor guns from regulations?

My hero

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Exactly what should be happening. Good for this legally armed citizen!

Good!!

One more favored carjacking method made use of by young men is loitering in areas and also giving out fliers, and so on. So, take note of your surroundings as well as avoid areas that just do not 'really feel appropriate.

👏👏👏

Carjacking should be mandatory minimum life sentence

1 for the good guys, unfortunately the bad guy survived the bullets

Faster than his own shadow!

This warms my heart.

As he should have everybody is not just going to lay down and take it.

Awesome! Another mutt off the streets!

About time!

Good.

good we need more stories like this!

Foxx has charged the driver with attempt murder for firing more than once

Greetings from chiraq. I've been following the advice of a Chicago cop for going on 2 years. 'Arm yourselves. Worry about the law later '

Good job!!! Maybe people will think twice before car jacking someone but, probably not, because there are too many stupid people out there.

So uh, the healthcare worker pulls up to a residence at midnight to “perform a job for a resident inside” whatever that means and nobodyyyyyy in the comments questions that? At all? Just hooray! Cops say this and guns are fired. Hooray! Losers.

These lowlifes are going to learn that everyone is not a victim...

Concealed carry in Chicago to teach these monsters a lesson and keep our streets safe.

Awesome.

Finally, someone is able to defend himself.

We need “open carry” in Illinois.

This is crazy now..

Some of us choose not to be passive victims...

🙌🏼

FUCK YES

Did the carjacker die? Hope so. Won't be anything but a repeat offender if he survives

Excellent!!!

Probably a better behavior modification method than Kim Foxx's snack/video package. He gonna think twice about the next one. Would LtGovStratton agree this might expedite his 'human potential for change'? Car owner got justice: he still has hs car.

Kras-bag (I can say that - we used to refer to him as that in college) will definitely prosecute the shooter.

Yeah !!!! One for the good guys

Good!

Need more of this. Regretfully need to take the streets back from these animals.

Atta boy!!!

I’m going to read this as a bedtime story to my little ones tonight

Congratulations the good guys got one

Hope all carjackers see the same fate...

Yea! some good news!

Problem solved

Story is from PHILADELPHIA, not Chicago. FOX32 no longer covers local stories. 😞

YES

Good.

One less Biden voter

Give this man a medal!
