Symone Sanders-Townsend, a top Biden campaign surrogate who was the chief spokeswoman for Vice President Kamala Harris, defended White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre's response to President Joe Biden's"unfortunate" gaffe involving the late Rep. Jackie Walorski .

Sanders-Townsend, who left the Biden administration to join MSNBC earlier this year, was appearing on NBC's Meet the Press as a panelist on Sunday when she was asked how she would've handled the president calling out for the congresswoman at a White House event this week, even though she was killed in a car crash in August.

Sanders-Townsend went on to point out Biden's own traumatic family history, as his first wife, Neilia, and one-year-old daughter Naomi were killed in a car crash at the start of his political career. The losses shaped the lives of himself and his sons, Beau and Hunter, and turned Biden into a known healing figure for trauma victims.

"I mean, I think everyone understands that the president unfortunately uniquely understands how the family is feeling, and I'm sure he made that very clear to them when they came to the White House on Friday," she said."I think just to acknowledge it, he had a slip of the tongue. Move on. It's unfortunate. Again, life is here. He understands and empathized. I think that's what's most important here. And I think Karine did try to do that.

While the president has long been known for his gaffes — he was born with a stutter that he spent years working to overcome and made a name for himself in politics with his off-the-cuff remarks — the Walorski gaffe spoke to a larger concern about Biden's old age affecting his capacity to perform his duties to the best of his ability.

Idk how the liberals can defend his ass. I mean, put the 'I hate republicans' shit aside for a second and be honest about the president. He's in cognitive decline and he's done nothng but fuck up since he was elected. If you can't admit that then you should stay out of politics.

Apologizing is never tough. Lying however can get quite testy

President Biden, first lady to visit Florida to see Ian's devastation and massive recovery efforts“I just want the people of Florida to know we see what you’re going through, and we’re with you. We’re going to do everything we can for you,' President Joe Biden said Friday from the White House. So does that mean they get the same amount of money that u gave Ukraine I’m guessing paper towels will not be involved. Nor will he mention that the FEMA Director is doing a ‘heck of a job.’ No thanks, we don't want them here. Why don't you quietly fly to the Texas border instead? It would be hilarious for Joe to wake up from his nap and find that he is in the last place he ever wanted to be.
