Martha's Vineyard has asked seasonal residents not to come to the island to escape the coronavirus. Many did anyway, and now the small island has 8 cases.

"If I was in their position and I had a family of four in downtown New York City and I had a house in Edgartown, I would probably want to be in Edgartown, as well," Ready said.

"We have limited beds and limited medical supplies," she said."We don't have enough staff to care for you during a surge of coronavirus." "We don't think it's too much of a sacrifice to request people not to come open their beach house so that our local hospitals aren't completely overrun," he said.Of course, Fernandes said, people have a right to stay in their own homes, but in a global pandemic, they ought to consider the scant resources.

Denise Schepici, CEO of Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, painted a stark picture. “We have limited beds and limited medical supplies,” she said. “We don’t have enough staff to care for you during a surge of coronavirus,” saying the hospital “would not be able to handle it.” (2/5)

Arizona mayors slam stay-at-home order that allows hair salons to remain openArizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, is facing criticism from some of the state's mayors after the stay-at-home order he issued this week allowed hair salons, barbershops and golf courses to stay open. Leave it to dougducey to care more about money than the health and safety of Arizonans. They’ve kept hairsalons, barbershops and golf courses open in Australia, only 2 people together at anyone time and must remain 4m apart from other group or 2. They’re managing it there.
