The first dog in the U.S. presumed to have COVID-19 may not have been infected with the virus after all, according to test results recently confirmed by the USDA.

A small number of dogs and cats outside the United States have reportedly become infected after close contact with people with COVID-19.The first dog in the U.S. presumed to have COVID-19 may not have been infected with the virus after all, according to test results recently confirmed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

"The National Veterinary Services Laboratories conducted confirmatory testing but were unable to verify infection in the dog. No virus was isolated and there was no evidence of an immune response using the available test," agency spokesperson Lyndsay Cole said in a statement. The USDA now says there was no confirmable evidence that Winston, a pug from North Carolina, had the COVID-19 virus.for the virus, which would have been the first known case in the U.S. of the virus in a dog. Elizabeth Petzold, program manager on the Duke University study that conducted the original test, said that to get more reliable results going forward researchers plan to rely on antibody tests from blood samples rather than swabs to test for the virus.

The dog waisted it's owners money with bogus covid19 allegations, arrest the dog and sue it also, rude puche

animals can not get the virus that has already been proven

No kidding.

Go figure

I guess he just wanted some social distance from his owner.

Did they test him by stretching out his tongue by any chance?

Not a single dog around the world was infected with COVID 19, so why would it have this disease?

The WHO also said today masks are not necessary for healthy ppl.

Reckoning With The Dead: Journalist Goes Inside An NYC COVID-19 Disaster MorgueW.J. Hennigan used to be a war reporter. But, he says, 'nothing really prepared me for the level of devastation and the amount of death' he faced while embedded with the workers caring for the bodies of some 20,000 New Yorkers who've died of COVID-19. Poor management. Strange that you are only really hearing about how horrible it is in Cuomo’s state. Thanking the National Guard for their search and recovery of the dead in NYC. No one thought you would be signing up for this level death work. Gratitude. 😔 💔

WHO Warns Covid-19 Could Mean End To Blowing Water Through Pool Noodle Into Friends’ FacesGENEVA—In an effort to prepare people for the “new normal” of life under the continuing threat of Covid-19, the World Health Organization issued a warning Thursday indicating the contagion could make blowing water through a pool noodle into your friends’ faces a relic of the past. “The use of a long foam tube to squirt liquid into the eyes, ears, or mouths of an unsuspecting fellow swimmer is, unfortunately, an efficient vehicle for spreading disease, and so we must accept that the novel coronavirus could mark the end of this cherished summertime ritual,” a statement from the agency read in part, clarifying that even if participants were fitted with personal protective equipment and prescreened with infrared thermometers, it was unlikely that blasting your sister’s suntanning friends with pool water would ever again be a safe activity. “While the playful gesture is deeply engrained in our social experience on a global scale, it is difficult to imagine that we will ever again inhabit a world in which we hear a buddy laughingly say, ‘What the fuck, dude?’ while water splashes across his face, or in which we reply ‘Dude, we’re just having a good time, why do you have to be a dick?’ As such, it is essential we begin readying ourselves for a future in which pool noodles are used solely as flotation devices.” The statement went on to indicate WHO was still working on guidelines to determine whether squishing your palms together on the surface of the pool to make a small stream shoot out would suffer a similar fate. This blows Is that actually a thing?
