White House coronavirus adviser Dr Deborah Birx warns rural areas to take precautions as Covid-19 ravages US

In this April 13, 2020 file photo, a patient is assisted in an ambulance outside NYU Langone Medical Center in New York.

"It is extraordinarily widespread. It's into the rural as equal urban areas," she added. "To everybody who lives in a rural area, you are not immune or protected from this virus."She added that sticking to health and safety guidelines, such as wearing a mask, maintaining personal hygiene and observing social distancing, was crucial.

"I think the president has been spreading disinformation about the virus and she is his appointee so, I don't have confidence there, no," Speaker Pelosi told ABC's "This Week" when asked if she has confidence in Birx. "I will stake my 40-year career on those fundamental principles of using data to implement better programmes and save lives.", Pelosi attacked Birx's credibility during a meeting last week with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

Some workers sickened by COVID-19 face an extra challenge: Proving where they got itAcross the US, states have wildly varying rules about whether COVID-19 is covered as a workplace injury, leaving workers to face the formidable task of trying to prove they contracted the virus on the job. Precisely what I said on air to the super bright and talented smerconish. Proving proximate cause in these cases will be a real challenge. Think it can be overcome in some cases, the nature of juries in the jurisdiction of the case will be key. This is a part of the McTurtle scam. The immunities prevent vulnerable employees from lawful protection under workers compensartion laws. In other words, if you don’t go to work, you’re fire. If you do go to work, its your own fault if you get sick. If we had universal healthcare for all, this would be less of an issue. If employers are refusing accommodation & unemployment benefits for people w/ kids &/or concern for their families & feel the work place is endangering them, then getting sick in the work place is an issue.

'Perfect storm': Defund the police, COVID-19 lead to biggest police budget cuts in decadeNearly half of 258 police agencies surveyed this month are reporting that funding has already been cut or is expected to be. How are they supposed to afford bodycams and independent investigations if we defund them? Why does my local PD have a fleet of new F150’s but the schools can’t get money to properly open? DefundThePolice I think they should not be shielded from consequences, when they kill people. The police cover up, so if defunding will help with that, yes defund. I have never had any real experience with police, but lots of people say, they never do anything to help, so some of the laws change
