Harassment, threats and physical altercations have become normal parts of a cabin crew’s job this summer, flight attendants say.
In a survey of 5,000 flight attendants from 30 airlines by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA union, 85% said they had dealt with unruly passengers this year, with over half saying they had experienced five or more such incidents and 17% saying they were involved in an incident that got physical.
Since the start of the year, the FAA said it has received 3,615 reports of unruly passengers. The agency has initiated 610 investigations, and levied fines or penalties in 95 incidents.
Funny, I have rarely seen a fuss. Usually if there is one it’s a flight attendant being a drama queen and harassing a passenger. This is an attempt to give more authority to a body that has proven unfair to passengers. Like in everything some are good and lots are bad.

One positive step would be for Airlines to cease sale of Alcohol in flight,as well as inside of airports. Many intoxicated jackasses on planes
Terrible that such abhorrent behavior would ever be considered normal
The most important part is to get video of these incidents. People behaving badly in public is my favourite part of the interwebs.
Flying is a privilege, not a right. Take them away, post the reason why, daily. So folks such as yourself can say that flying is a right.
You guys help fuel this with your trash editorials
Kurdishgenocide KurdeGenocide
Travel agencies, airlines, airplane producers and on those who travel are destroying our planet/climate.
I read this article and wonder if anyone writing it has ever flown before? Customer service on US airlines is horrific, that is the reason that airline employees feel harassed.
Its simple, stop DEMANDING that 'should' and 'ask.' if people dont, than move on and go about your day. It takes two people to escalate an altercation.
anyone causing these problems in the plane cabin should be banned from ALL flights for 5 years...
