LONDON - A British employers’ group criticized on Monday what it said would be the “beyond eye-watering” cost of the opposition Labour Party’s plans to return utilities, train companies and the Royal Mail to public ownership.

The Confederation of British Industry said Labour’s plans would have an upfront cost of 196 billion pounds , assuming Labour paid the full market value of companies involved - similar to a 176 billion-pound estimate made last year by the pro-privatization Centre for Policy Studies think tank. Labour described the CBI’s estimate as “incoherent scaremongering” and said it overvalued the assets of utilities owned by privately held companies by applying a 30% premium to their book value.

£176 billion Labour Party's cost to renationalise To take us back to the 70s Where you couldn't get to work on time No wonder they want a 4 day week It will take the other one to get you there

I’m not for or against but you would expect the employers to be against this idea. Question is what do the employees and customers think about it?

The Labour Party getting the keys to No.10 is literally the worst threat to Britain right now. Forget Brexit, these innumerate buffoons in the Labour party will obliterate British economy and social fabric. It will be the 60s and 70s all over again!

Well they would wouldn't they, duh.

I’m sure they do. What was their gross profit combined last year?
