That's 2.3 per each million rides, 1.3 by the driver and 1.0 by a passenger or other person. Again, would like to compare to traditional cabs.

If anyone believes these numbers from the company, you’re kidding yourself. Way under represented and completely false.
Of course they are not doing enough. They don’t care about passenger safety. All they care about is their bottom line and making more $. Also, drivers aren’t required to undergo the same degree of background checks as taxi drivers.

This is totally the fault of CHEAP millennials! When I was growing up we learned NEVER get into a car with a stranger. Now, young stupid adults CALL a stranger to pick them up. How dumb is that? You want the most safety you can have - call a taxi!
Some context would be nice. “Sexual Assault” is an umbrella term. An unwanted touch could be deemed a sexual assault. So could a rape.
The only way to protect drivers and riders is to follow one simple rule. Do Not Get Into Cars With Strangers!

Uber has worked to weaken every background check law that has been passed. These were the same checks taxi drivers went through but Uber paid off politicians to pass weaker versions so they didn't have to follow the stricter ones.
If banning Uber and Lyft saves just one life or sexual assault......
