WASHINGTON - The Trump administration said on Tuesday said it will begin treating five major Chinese state-run media entities with U.S. operations the same as foreign embassies, requiring them to register their employees and U.S. properties with the State Department.

“The control over both the content and editorial control have only strengthened over the course of Xi Jinping’s term in power,” said one official. “These guys are in fact arms of the CCP’s propaganda apparatus.” Tuesday’s decision, the officials said, is not linked to any recent developments in Sino-U.S. relations and has been under consideration for some time.

The five entities’ U.S. operations will have to disclose their personnel rosters and hiring and firing decisions and register properties in the United States that they rent or own with the State Department, the officials said.

So the same treatment is naturally being imposed on the BBC and the CBC correct?

lauferlaw But Russian propaganda is perfectly okay.

All the media from China is state-owned, serving the propaganda agenda of the communist instead of the truth....

Why not just ban all of them including WeChat ?

And what does the US plan to do about Fox News, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Rush Limbaugh, and Breitbart, propaganda? Give out more medals of Freedom? What a joke.

Which does the US object to, the state-own or the propaganda part. Because if it the propaganda part, the Chinese can point to Fox news.

But RT is super...ask Flynn

US propaganda like Fox News is bad but the CCP are taking it even further with fake news networks like CGTNOfficial

Russian propaganda, meanwhile, continues to be amplified by Trump’s Twitter feed.

US to treat Chinese state media like an arm of Beijing's governmentThe United States will begin treating five major Chinese media companies as extensions of Beijing's government, requiring them to comply with rules governing foreign embassies and consulates. In retaliation, Beijing might start treating Fox News as an extension of the Trump administration. Kinda like Fox News is in the US. Will Fox News be similarly treated as an extension of this White House?

Miners welcome Indonesia's new jobs bill that could spur coal growthMiners have welcomed proposed changes to Indonesian mining rules under a new law... Mining? LoL 😂 49ers! Indonesia would be better served to create a bill that focuses on creating renewable energy growth, not only is it better for the environment and where the future is heading, but also creates more jobs and is even more profitable.
