The Biden administration faced growing pressure to punish Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, after the U.S. sanctioned some Saudi officials but not the crown prince

WASHINGTON - The United States is focused on “future conduct” of Saudi Arabia and will expect Riyadh to improve its human rights record, a U.S. spokesman said on Monday, after Washington imposed sanctions on some Saudis for the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi but fell short of sanctions against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

“We are very focused on future conduct and that is part of why we have cast this not as a rupture, but as a recalibration” of U.S.-Saudi relations, U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said at a press briefing. “We are urging Saudi Arabia to take additional steps – to lift travel bans on those released, to commute sentences and resolve cases such as those women’s rights activists and others,” he said.

Growing pressure on their fake promises for inside cases like vaccine and guns law in US. Anyway his highness is beloved leader in Saudi nation so we not allowed for anyone targeting him or our country or our society because no smoke gun related with crown prince

I thought Biden was providing a big update in the situation today? Did I miss it?

Do we really need to stay in bed with the Saudis? From 911 to khashoggi. How many more are we going to let them kill? Once the oil runs out and their wealth dries up will we still continue to defend this anti-US country. We are being used.

Still, there’s no strong evidence included in the report. The report includes nothing but false claims.

To psaki potus spokesperson what ur saying is 👇🏼👇🏼

Are you ignorant? Or are you deliberately tarnishing the reputation of the Crown Prince? Because if you read the report, there is no evidence, only analyzes.

Problem

Joe Biden cant find his ass with both hands and the CIA cant be trusted with anything thats a fact Jack!

While ur at it hold SpeakerPelosi accountable for the CapitalRiots, NYGovCuomo for rape and murder, ChrisCuomo for accessory to commit murder, AOC for inciting violence with her lies of events on Jan 6th, and CoriBush for eating too much on the 'company' card. PerDiem

Why does Biden have to clean up Grump’s mess?

Why was Trump given a pass, he’s the guy fucking loves bin Salman?

'extremely problematic'

MdluliNtate I come from a little state called Zimbabwe. The whole country was sanctioned just because we repossessed our land from the minority whites. Our President RGMugabe was sanctioned for that. Now US says it doesn't sanction foreign leaders

Sure, he approved the savage murder, because it was his idea. Doubt anyone came & said, 'Hey, we can get rid of the guy, cut him 2 pieces, make him gone forever. Do you approve?' Not buying it. MBS likely said, 'Get rid of him.' And they did, in the most gruesome way possible.

And did GOD DIE AND MAKE AMERICA THE GODS? SAUDI PEOPLE SHOULD FIGURE THIS OUT NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. WHY AMERICA? WHY?

The Biden administration is also facing a lot of pressure to appease Iran, even though Iran has been using assassinations as a tool for many years against dissenters and opponents.

The current US administration should apologize publicly and explicitly for the failed CIA report so that the Americans do not lose the respect of the Saudi citizen. JoeBiden CIA CBSNews FoxNews CNN USATODAY washingtonpost thetimes TheSun WSJ WeLoveMBS

The United States has been handcuffed to Israel and SaudiArabia for decades. They yell 'Jump!' and we leap. Every time. We've become absolute pussies. Embarrassing. MiddleEast

Does anyone read HISTORY? LIKE SERIOUSLY? ITS NOT ABOUT Khashoggi! Sadly

MBS is a thug who’s got to be held accountable. Since when do we allow the head of a foreign government to kill an American resident or citizen without retaliation?

When are we going to stop using phrases and use the proper word, he is a *regent*. That's the word for a de facto monarch running things for the de jure monarch. Regencies aren't anything new or exceptional, or special in any way, shape or form. Historically pretty normal.

Nonsense. No hard evidence. All opinions, assessments and doubts.

That was Trumps job next

The sun of justice will once on this earth.

Saudi Arabia should depose its criminal king and replace it with someone with a soul! Better abolish the Monarchy and let the people rule over themselves!

thanks for this news

Saudi Arabia policy is not reflected by what those people did to Jamal khashoggi.

Saudi Arabia has a fair and honest justice system. It ensured the trial of all the criminals and sentenced them for their crime.

Saudi Arabia has conducted a transparent trial with all evidence to charge all those involved in the murder.

All the culprits behind Khashoggi's murder have been sentenced for their crime.

The murder of Jamal is being used by hostile agendas to Saudi with no care whatsoever for Jamal and his family.

The biggest arms dealer in the world can hardly cut off one of their best customers😂😂

POTUS is tougher on his own staff than a foreign leader who ordered the death of an American reporter?

Punish everybody but the one who ordered the killings. Very Neoliberal.

What punishments are available for US to impose on foreign heads of state? Genuinely curious if anyone knows. Also applicable to Putin, Erdogan, and Xi.

I haven't heard an issue like this between allies like Russia and iran or china and iran rather than a comment by the u.s although Iranian government kidnap and kill opposition leaders all along. they are a stronger allies than others and, can win. fragile relationships ends.

Yet another kick ass move by the Dems! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Shut down his US accounts and severe sanctions on Saudi funds and investments in US.

If you punish MB its like punishing the whole state, they have no clear lines of distinction so Biden wemt over hos head and deals with the old man. A clear sign he only deals w the king. Smart subtle move .

It’s really a shame that America’s geopolitics are such that it can’t sanction the Crown Prince, MBS. The most powerful nation in the world who allowed a rotten creature to rule as President for yrs. Guess it’s okay to pardon murderers if they are princes & rich, old white men.

Ooh, this is going to be fun! 🍿🍿🍿

He Was Not An American , Not Biden Problem To Take Care of

Some things never change, regardless of which party is in office.

Wake up. He's our bastard. So a wet lettuce slap is plenty. It's so obvious

Fibbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. That's because unless MbS is held accountable there is no justice for Jamal Khashoggi & we essentially put MbS above the law as an international community? Is this the standard the world wants to set? Absolute monarchies are above the law & decorum of society?

With allies like that who needs enemies

House votes to limit arms sales to Saudi Arabia over Khashoggi killingThe Biden administration released an intelligence report in February concluding that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman approved the killing of the dissident and journalist in 2018. They should follow up with sanctions. Wonderful! Good. Let’s have them explain their involvement with 9/11 finally as well. Or do we have to wait for Bush to be gone to expose the truth?
