" on reopening, saying younger people were driving the spike but that they were at lesser risk than older people.
Republican Miami Mayor Francis X. Suarez called the growth"extremely worrisome," and said the growth was partially due to the early reopening of the state. "There's no doubt that the fact that when we reopened, people started socializing as if the virus didn't exist,"Democratic Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego told ABC News that the state may have opened up too quickly, and criticized the federal government's response to the virus and the lack of testing across the state.

OH NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!1
Lies! Do your own research!!
Lowest death totals in US in 10 weeks. Why is the US taxpayer still funding fake news?
this tweet didn't turn out so well 🤣
More testing= More Positives. 🧐
Deaths are literally lowest in months. How could you say this?
Please clarify as cumulative numbers can only rise, they can never fall. Daily deaths are lower, but added to the total, the total is higher. Please stop fearmongering!
If you smooth to take out noise, deaths are in a long-slow decline at the moment. Good attempt to try to feed your listeners' need for fearporn, though
Perspective. Do better.
Wait. Deaths are down again this week. This is fake news. Where’s the editor on this?
Why is there a picture of the beach?
Doooommmm!!!?!? Doooooommmmm!!! Two more weeks and we’re all dead man!!?!?!
2,813,503 have died from everything else so far this year. Push the narrative.
Less deaths. More testing being completed thanks to President Trumps request.
Covid mortality is in fact coming in line with influenza
U are blaming and faulting testing
I can’t think of any other two ignorant states that deserve their fate.
So with the new case spike in Florida, at what point do we expect to see resultant major repercussions that we are told to expect. I thought 1-2 weeks?
What NPR won't report: Per the latest from the CDC, 'The percentage of deaths attributed to pneumonia, influenza or COVID-19 (PIC) decreased from 9.0% during week 25 to 5.9% during week 26, representing the tenth week of a declining percentage of deaths due to PIC.'
Looks like a nice day for it in Florida
Fake news; we won't believe it until mommy and grandma die.
Until it hits them personally, they’ll understand. Hopefully not too late.
US cases falling COVIDIOTS CoronaVirus COVIDー19
The replies on here make me ashamed to be a US American. This is not propaganda. NPR is reporting facts. There are now ~30,000 more deaths than there were a few weeks ago. The point they are trying to make is that there are over 100,000 deaths now since the pandemic started here.
I humbly welcome that we may watch this together
👎🏻
And Tarrant County Tx (population ~2 MIL) took off July 3-5 (unannounced, without notice) so add at minimum 500 cases and 1-5 deaths per day to those totals.
We can protest but we can’t go to the beach.
Whewww Florida and Texas, y'all stay doing the most
Daily death rates are dropping. ICU hospitalizations are dropping. We are building immunity and learning to defeat SarsCov2. Quit the fear mongering. Live life for Christ's sake.
death rate is decreasing, you dishonest muckrakers.
Help. We have incoming freshman going to UTAustin and univmiami in 6 weeks.
Yawn...
Your description is misleading: deaths will always rise as people die. This makes it sound like the death rate is increasing and it is not, though we don’t hear it in the media, nor do we hear the mortality rate. Sad.
We're so embarrassing.
