The number of babies born in the U.S. last year fell to a 32-year low, deepening a fertility slump that is reshaping America’s future workforce.
About 3.79 million babies were born in the U.S. in 2018, according to provisional data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics. That was a 2% decline from the previous year and marked the fourth year in a row that the number fell. The general fertility rate—the number of births per 1,000 women ages 15 to 44—fell to 59.0, the lowest...
Skilled, educated and capitalistic-ambitious-minded immigration is required.
Aha.... is this the true reasoning behind the barbaric abortion kaws in the Southern States? ...all hidden behind the rhetoric of religious indignation
I hope it’s just because women are choosing to have children later after pursuing higher education. Also more families will choose to have more children as the economy recovers. Otherwise it will be hard to compete with China’s Human Resources
hks55 Once again going against the trend and contributing to the legacy.
Can we not afford children or has our spending priorities changed? If we buy expensive cars, homes and luxury trips then it's true, we can't afford to have children also.
Who would want to bring kids into this world? I wouldnt do that to my worst enemt
Tax break for stay at home moms and more babies!!!
MikeOkuda Seeing what a Hellscape it's been under Trump, I wouldn't want to condemn any babies to living under his regime.
This is great news plus it's more than likely part of the reason Alabama and Missouri passed them bitch ass anti abortion laws. As long as those same laws apply to their mistresses.
A hidden reason behind all the anti abortion legislation of late? It's not religion - it's economics - hypocrites.
If the white tribe in America wants to have more white babies, they should stop drinking alcohol and taking drugs
That’s why we keep importing babies, because this country makes it too expensive to have your own....
Tell Trump...
Maybe those asylum seeking families should be welcomed to work hard and raise their children to get a good eduction, and help fill that anticipated void in the next generation workforce. Better idea than Trump’s no families immigration plan.
Obviously need more immigrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and other Islamic countries where population is skyrocketing, apparently.
And you guys are building walls on top of that
When children are not among the top priorities of a government. The citizens will be scared to have them.
bring a child into this heinous world? where they will either be forced into war, forced to live with dirty water and air and a dying planet no1 cares about, poverty or fall into the slave lifestyle of working long hrs shit pay no benefits etc.
We import our population now.
And the government and its supporters are opposed to immigration. Good luck with the future of your labour force 😂
Castro4Congress We also don't want to have children because we don't want to see them perish in some school shooting. Why would we want to bring any children into trumpland?
Castro4Congress Because we can't afford children. A lot of us are struggling with huge student loan costs, there is no way to afford children. We have no paid parental leave, or paid daycare options. We don't have salaries keeping up with other costs.
Forcing 12 year olds to term is not the solution folks.
Nah, we won’t need Immigrants or anything. These kids just need to start having babies at 14
My parents had 7 children. My father made 26,000 a year and mom did not work. We did fine. Now, one kid is a financial challenge.
Who’s going to fund my Social Security?
America won't be recognizable in 20 years. We will be bred out.
Economists: oh no, fewer babies, less $. Politicians: oh no, more immigrants, more babies . . .AND oh no, fewer babies, so we need less birth control & abortion to have more babies. Environmentalists: oh no, too many babies, we need to stop. So we have too many & few babies? 🤔
realDonaldTrump go on a pro-baby making campaign. fertility rates are below the population replacement rate.
Everyone except those on assistance realizes that having and raising children with the best of intent is unaffordable!
Gee, I wonder why people are hesitant to have children? Couldn’t be the exorbitant costs, lack of public support, and the prospect of a dying planet, right?
Happening all across the developed world since WWII/Baby-boomers.
Hence the forced birth movement.
Why would you want to bring a kid in this world now?
My wife and I are trying to have a baby now, but I'm terrified. Even with my wife's insurance, the birth itself will cost a minimum of $6,000 or so. And if her parents can't watch the baby while she works, child care is impossibly expensive. The US is a bad country for families.
When every woman is either on birth control or having abortions it's pretty obvious the birthrate is gonna drop. American women are too busy for kids anyway... The whole world will be Islamist before too long anyway.
Probably because people can’t afford to have children nowadays.
There is a reason for this. Two kids in daycare costs us $600 a week. I would love to have more but can't afford it.
Kids cost a lot of money
It's the 'little mushroom' effect of the last election.
We're just cattle to them. They could replace us to increase birth rates the same way they're doing in Europe.
How many of them were named “Donald”?
Ban Abortion, Ban Contraceptives etc.....Drastic measures needed
