said on Tuesday it plans in January to replace more than a dozen federal inspectors at a large Kansas beef plant with company employees, after getting a U.S. government waiver.
Tyson said the changes would improve food safety and efficiency, though some activists worried they could result in less oversight. The USDA granted the waiver in March 2020, allowing Tyson workers instead of government inspectors to check cattle carcasses for blood clots, bruises or signs of disease before the animals are butchered, company executives said.
The number of USDA inspectors at the plant will drop to nine per shift from 17, the agency said in a statement to Reuters. The number of highly trained government employees who do more complex work like monitoring animal welfare or meat testing will increase to seven per shift from two, according to USDA.
Awesome! Revenge of the plants!

Cook your Corporate meats till they're burnt...
I think this is a great idea. Obviously trump knows those workers are more skilled then federal inspectors. Every Trump voter will soon feel secure in their meat quality.
“Impartial”
Trouble
No more beef for me
Yeah, the hard work of the meat lobbyists is paying off! First pork, now we’ll also have more feces in our beef! Nom nom
Just a little Barnyard noise--moo, moo, moo, moo, moo, moo, moo, moo, moo. Pointed Ears Joe Biden says, he'll fine the cattle ranchers $100 per head for cows. PEJ Biden says cows pollute, too. He added, anybody caught farting will be fined $10. Bidden added, farts like me pollute
I think I'll just start patting myself down & checking my own things in the airport security line for now on...
Wait. What? Then why do we have federal inspectors?
Tyson = You won't be getting what they say is in the package... Tyson = You will be getting sick by eating the disease they will pack into every bite...

Wow, serious conflict of interest here.
Self policing always works out well
yep that’ll work! anyone old enough to remember when boeing employees did the inspections? how did that work out?
How does anyone get a waiver to not require federal inspection? This is outrageous
Not ok.
Yeah, that worked out great at Boeing.
Don’t eat Tyson

Also, foxes will now be overseeing the hen house.
Sounds safe and not suspicious at all.
Gross. If you are eating out you may not be able to find out if they use Tyson products
Thats the first step towards a shit quality product.
Sheesh. Now how idiotic is that? Do as you're told or you are fired. Yes meat inspections were fantastic, really. Who would come up with that kind of assine idea? Oh Tyson.

Looks like Boeing number two. Have you got the body bags ready. Federal government should step in for the lives of all people.
Er.... Methinks I'll be AVOIDING Tyson food products going forward.
IOW avoid tyson food products at all costs.
What could possibly go wrong?
Oh god..
That's like assigning police officers to investigate use of force cases in their own department. What could possibly go wrong?
They are worthless in the plants, underfunded.
Lot of confidence in that. 🤔
Oh, this will totally end well.
let's get ready to cooooo-liiiiiiiiiiiiii!
Bye TysonFoods
You have got to be kidding!
as a former quality control technician/inspector for an Omaha area pork plant, I would say you really don't want companies policing themselves. Management would constantly send out bad product when the federal inspectors weren't looking and doctor the records
THIS will make you go vegan. 🤨 boycotttyson
Oh wait, beef, must be Lee Coli.
Time to boycott Tyson
Yes, since this worked so well for Boeing.
This is a freaking disaster
