Two longtime Democratic congressmen will announce their retirements on Monday, according to sources familiar with their plans, a sign of the party’s diminishing hopes of keeping the House majority after next year’s midterm elections.Doyle, 68, was first elected in 1994 and is a close ally of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The 81-year-old Price, who won his seat in 1996, is a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee.
Doyle plans to make an announcement at 1 p.m. Eastern Time, according to his office. Price is giving an interview at noon on a local, Raleigh, N.C., TV station.
Great news
Why, especially when we need as many as we can get. Our house margin is slim to none
That an 80+ year old is retiring hardly a sign of a loss of the majority.
is there a pro-Israeli angle in this? I've heard you should be pro Israeli at all times. Now I don't trust you at all. I don't even think you deliver news, you're just a mouthpiece.
Must have received some cha ching 💰
Actually, a sign they are feeling too old to be effective.
How often do districts change their political leanings, tho?
Politico's projection that these retirements are 'a sign of the party's diminishing hopes' is erroneous and propagandistic BS. Price won his last election w/ 67% of the vote and Doyle's district will probably be phased out due to the 2020 census.
Oh Good Lord really? This summary? Gah!!!
Spinning it for your new right wing masters, I see. No wonder there’s now a boycott of your site.
loveeternal Now I understand why the country gets worse everyday, it's because of its leader and because there is nobody to question him!
