J. Alexander Kueng, one of the former Minneapolis Police officers convicted of federal charges in the fatal arrest of George Floyd, has been sentenced to three years in prison

Kueng, who held down Floyd's torso, and Thao, who kept a group of bystanders back, were each convicted in February of violating Floyd's civil rights and of failing to intervene to stop their colleague Derek Chauvin during the restraint. With the sentences, all four of the officers who helped restrain Floyd in May 2020 have now received prison time.Thomas Lane, who held down Floyd's legs, was convicted of one federal charge and sentenced last week to 2.

How the fatal arrest of George Floyd unfolded 04:33The sentencing comes more than two years after Lane, Thao and Kueng were fired and arrested for their actions -- or lack thereof -- in May 2020 as Chauvin pressed his knee into the neck and back of Floyd, who was handcuffed and lying on his stomach, for more than nine minutes.

Kelly15094231 Only one cop should’ve been sentenced for that the rest of them did nothing to deserve jail time what a travesty of justice. More woke left-wing nonsense. Why any cop would want to be a cop in Minneapolis?

So sad that politics has take over our judicial system. These guys earned a gold medal not a jail term.

We are all brothers & sisters on this planet whether we like it or not! Our roots most likely go back to 2 individuals whose offspring traveled and explored further and further from their origin! These folks appearances likely changed reflecting their environment & food supply.

His name escapes me,(RODNEY?I will research but dont want to loose this link in a senior moment)! I believe it was a black man that a while back after another tragedy, beating, or other inhumane incident said to TV cameras,'WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?' TRUELY POWERFUL WORDS!

Just 3 years? 🙄

3 years for that?😳🤔 way to low sentence🤦‍♂️

3 years!!! Is this kind of a joke or what?

Oh so that's it .....3 years and it ends there ? 🤦🏿‍♂️

I thought you never got arrested anymore.

Ridiculous

SIfill_ Not long enough.

What? Just three years? A man is dead and this is the sentence they get? Justice clearly not served here. Sad day.

Clear message, if your partner is killing an innocent then you better to intervene right away and use the necessary force to stop him...if not your career is over and the jail will wait for you

SIfill_ Very light sentence

SIfill_ 'fatal arrest' lol

They should just removed the other three officers from the force and whatever jail sentences they recieved tacked on to Derek's prison time.

St. George leaders propose property tax hike to bolster public safety“We are behind the eight ball right now and we can’t continue to fall further behind,” Mayor Michele Randall said. “We’ve put off property tax increases for 35 years and we can no longer kick that can down the road. It’s time we bite the bullet.” somehow politicians never consider downsizing and cutting costs … such as a whole meaningless department. just raise taxes on inflated property values. endless cycle. no such thing as affordable housing. I'm sure the city council members and mayors for the last 35 years have been patting themselves on the back for not raising property taxes, while ignoring the growing need. It’s time. St George has been behind the curve for decades. When you lose good officers to departments in Northern Utah simply because you can’t pay them enough, it’s time to look in the mirror and find a solution.
