TV Academy revokes Cuomo's Emmy amid scandal, resignation

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences said in a statement that given Cuomo’s resignation amid a torrent of sexual harassment allegations it was taking away the prize and removing any reference to him in its official materials.Cuomo left office at 12 a.m.

In 2017, the academy reversed its decision to give the Founders Award to actor Kevin Spacey after he was accused of sexual misconduct. Other recipients of the award over the years have included former Vice President Al Gore, TV icon Oprah Winfrey, and director Steven Spielberg.

The problem is they revoked it because he's a sexual deviant. They should have revoked it because he lied day and day about the death counts during his 'Emmy Award winning press conferences'. TelevisionAcad

What a ridiculous decision. Did Andrew Cuomo's COVID briefings suddenly change? Were they no longer good enough? Was the jury incapable? Did the criteria suddenly change? This is becoming more and more of a witchhunt. Shameless and shameful at the same time.

Canceling an Emmy for what. Was there something about those broadcasts that is no longer valuable or that makes them no longer qualified for the award?
