Maldives former president Nasheed critical after bomb blast
MALE -The Maldives speaker of parliament and former president, Mohamed Nasheed, was in critical care on Friday after being severely wounded in a bomb blast outside his home, hospital authorities said, in what police are treating as a terrorist attack. Nasheed, the Maldives first democratically elected president who is now parliament speaker, had previously warned about militants infiltrating the Islamic country.
In an overture to the MAGA crowd, Rep. Elise Stefanik appeared on Steve Bannon's radio show Thursday, saying that to win in the 2022 midterm elections, Republicans have to "run with support" from former President Donald Trump and "his coalition of voters." Stefanik is the frontrunner to replace Rep. Liz Cheney as the House Republican Conference chair, should Cheney get ousted from the position.
