Former Sen. David Perdue plans to announce he’ll challenge Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, setting up an epic Republican Party primary clash in one of the nation’s top battleground states
He’ll take on incumbent Brian Kemp, who has been repeatedly attacked by the former president.
Adding to the high stakes: The winner will face Democrat Stacey Abrams, who announced last week that she’ll challenge Kemp, to whom she narrowly lost in 2018. A campaign featuring Abrams and Perdue would place Abrams’ signature issue — voting rights — as well as Trump’s false claims of widespread voter fraud at center stage.

In his announcement, Perdue amazingly sounded so much like George Wallace. “Over my dead body will Stacey Abrams become governor.” Close your eyes and hear the sound. Here we go AGAIN! Any mention of this or nah? Seems like a straight shooter to me! Good. I’ve missed Hee-Haw Can you say seanspicer ? Will Chicken Perdue run scared from debating Stacey Abrams, too? Goooo Stacey! ❤️❤️
Didn't he leave the Senate for health reasons? If they want to matter… run as a 3rd party. Save the time, $ and energy. Shouldn’t he be in jail for insider trading ? Let the GOP infighting begin! Aren't they the same person anyway?
A look at the life of Sen. Bob DoleFormer Senator Bob Dole of Kansas served as a congressman and then senator from 1961 to 1996. A veteran of World War II, he was seriously injured in combat and suffered life-long paralysis in his right arm and hand. He ran for vice president with Gerald Ford and for the Republican nomination for president twice, winning the nomination in 1996, but lost the election to Bill Clinton. Sen. Robert J. But how will Perdue profit off of his insider trading information from the federal government? Oh, that’s right, he already has. The increasingly right-leaning does not even bother to mention the pandemic profiteering insider stock trading scandals that played a role in the defeats of both Purdue and Loeffler. Unacceptable omission.
Split the party. Great for Stacy 🍿 Well, well, well. Chicken Purdue is trying to buy the governor’s seat now? Who on Earth told him that was a good idea? When all else fails to circumvent a free and fair election, try try try to get your own candidate installed. 🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑

Yep blame the gun not the failure of the owners and goverment for enforcing the existing rules.
Oh, we just can’t wait for Purdue to debate his opposition…because he can’t. Especially with Stacy Abrams, if Purdue doesn’t no show again. He misses profiting off his corruption Good, cuz Warnock is winning it Of course 🤮 If Stacey Abrams wins the governor's race despite the voter suppression, will the G.O.P. allow her victory to stand? Or simply declare it illegitimate and seize power anyway? We'd better end the filibuster and pass voting rights if we want to hang on to electoral democracy.
So disappointed in sendavidperdue. He had my vote 7 years ago and in November and January, but not in the primary. I will not allow Trump to cause harm to our party in GA. I will vote and campaign for Kemp. Abrams will win 😂😂😂😂 yes please split the repub vote This should be fun.

Stacy Abrams should send a thank you note to Fmr. Sen Perdue… competitive primaries tend not to be ideal…. Not sure why people are acting like this will be an easy race for Stacey Abrams. If anything, Perdue makes it harder. Kemp is hated by a good piece of the GOP base which means lower turnout. Perdue has a cleaner slate with all sides of the GOP. This will be a tough race.
RABSML Oh that should be fun !😆 Stacey4Georgia StaceyAbramsForGovernor Purdue is addicted to Republican-style grift. He wants back what he lost. Alternative headline republicans pave the way for democrat Stacey Abrams to be the next governor of Georgia. Trump will be forced to endorse Perdue and Perdue will try to run a Glen Youngkin campaign. Will it work, no Georgia is vastly different than Virginia.

Republicans eat their own, meanwhile Democrats coalesce around staceyabrams Can’t wait to see either’s expression when staceyabrams trounces Republicans. Excellent. A brutal beatdown primary works to our benefit. Dueling a wounded general candidate is very welcomed. This buys Abrams time to stockpile cash & campaign while they 🤡 each other for months.
