A youth town hall in Tuskegee let children and parents hear from local officials and learn about resources that benefit families.

TUSKEGEE, Ala. - Macon County District Judge Deborah Biggers understands the importance of the children in her community.

“These kids are very bright, so let’s motivate them to think and use critical thinking to read, and just prepare them now to become productive citizens in the future,” said Biggers. Liletta Jenkins says she still sees the effects of the pandemic while working at the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education. She says it has caused a rise in truancy.
