Lewandowski spent most of the hearing stonewalling questions from House Democrats with small procedural objections. Frustrated lawmakers called the moves an attempt to obstruct their investigation, with Rep. David Cicilline even threatening to put Lewandowski in contempt.
Eventually, Lewandowski confirmed what was in the Mueller report, saying that never relayed Trump’s message to Sessions because he was on vacation. Toward the end of the hearing, Lewandowski tweeted a link to a website, standwithcorey.com, launched in anticipation of a potential Senate run in New Hampshire. The move drew
from some who say that Lewandowski’s combativeness was a charade to troll lawmakers and drum up support ahead of announcing his campaign. : Lewandowski served as Trump’s campaign manager from January 2015 to June 2016 where he was known for embracing Trump’s brash political style. He was charged with simple battery after forcefully grabbing Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields at a press conference in Florida. A few months later, he resigned from the campaign.
