Instagram have just announced a feature to let you ditch all of the baggage on your IG.
Wave goodbye to those boring accounts clogging your feed!TWEET We’ve all done it. On a night out for a friend of a friend’s birthday, you spend 10 minutes with a person whose energy is sour, nasty, overwhelming and scatters your chakras all over the shop. They’re convinced they’re being really cool, telling you everything about every aspect of their own life in lieu of having, you know, a conversation. “Follow me on Instagram !” they say, slurring their words, and you hide your grimace as you hand over your phone and they insist to press that blue button and like a few of their own photos for some greatly needed validation. Fast forward to the following weekend and the algorithm has, thankfully, buried their presence on your feed. Fast forward another six months, and they’re just on your ‘Following’ page gathering dust. Well, to help you cleanse your aura a little, Instagram have just announced a feature to let you ditch all of the baggage on your IG. It’s not got a proper title, so let’s call it ‘Follow Manager’. This neat little tool, which should be present on your ‘Following’ page if you head there now, quickly shows you the 50 most and least present people on your Instagram feed over the past 90 days. In other words, it shows you who you might be obsessing over a little too much, and also shows you the people you followed and forgot about. Quite how you utilise it is up to you. Is your ex at the top of your ‘most engaged with’ list? Stop that shit, sis! Are you thirstily liking every single photo on Shawn Mendes ’ feed (don’t @ me)? Maybe it’s a sign that you should be taking a proper social media detox. Or perhaps, the 50 figures occupying the bottom half of your list deserve some more love. Click ‘em, check out their feeds and throw them a like or two. Sometimes the algorithm tries to screw you over. “Instagram is really about bringing you closer to the people and things you care about -- but we know that over time, your interests and relationships can evolve and change,” an Instagram spokesperson has said. With this new feature, they hope to make it “easier to manage the accounts you follow on Instagram so that they best represent your current connections and interests”. Trump: ‘Life would’ve been a lot easier’ had I picked Barr over SessionsSessions quickly went from one of the president’s champions to one of his greatest foes after recusing himself from the Russia investigation. Trump and Barr in on it together! I don’t believe Barr saying trump quit tweeting on DOJ matters! He keeps admitting this stuff. Why aren't you reporting what a big deal that is? That the president is way happier with Barr working to protect him, personally, than the way Sessions attempted having ethics and recusing himself appropriately.
