‘This is the party of birtherism’: Nikole Hannah-Jones says extremism in GOP 'not new'

After the Capitol Hill insurrection incited by President Trump, Republicans are insisting to ‘move on’ and not deal with extremists in their own power.

Nikole Hannah-Jones says this is not new: "This is the party of the Willie Horton ad. This is the party of Mitch McConnell posing in front of a Confederate flag. This is a party of birtherism, the Muslim ban.”

Nicole....Per Eddie G, the horse is out of the gate. The “republic will survive, if we can keep it .” GOP acts and omissions are an indication of its demise. Why/how? Our “younguns” are no longer willing to step aside or wait our turn; the summer protests were nothing.

we must understand political parties are vehicles historically for ideologies, but there is a large segment who don't actually believe in constitutional democracy at all and only participate in it begrudgingly...
