A student loan expert shares tips on talking about college costs with your kids. Story from CollegeAveLoans

Leslie Tayne is a financial attorney specializing in debt and student loans. She isn’t immune to the stress that comes with paying for college, but she does have a secret weapon that has helped her and her family address financial issues head-on: She’s been talking to her kids about college costs since they were in middle school.

According to a recent survey by College Ave Student Loans conducted by Barnes & Noble College Insights, 85% of parents agreed that they should help their child pay for college. However, 68% of parents expect their child to help pay for college. In addition, a conversation about financing college costs can be a great way to touch on other important financial topics at the same time. For example, parents can take the opportunity to discuss how their child will budget for their daily expenses or set expectations about whether they expect their child to get a job during the school year, during the summer or both.

‘Dropping tuition prices?’: College students reconsider high tuition costs in pandemic.WatchSavannah reports on college students concerned about the cost of virtual classes: “A lot of universities are not changing the cost of college. It is going to cost you the same right now to do those online classes as it would in any normal year.” WatchSavannah A good program to teach students how they will endure a lifetime of getting stuck, stiffed & robbed on fees when dealing with a large organisation in the US WatchSavannah Thought about that. The U of Arizona and SNHU advertise about enrolling and getting a degree on line. With on line classes you shouldn’t have to pay fees for student or rec centers. On line, you won’t have to buy a meal plan, or parking pass or live in a dorm. WatchSavannah College is not only and education it is a passage into being an adult. The experiences are as valuable if not more then the education and sitting in an apartment online will not challenge these students. So sad how we let politicians dictate our life.
