'This Is on You': O'Rourke Disrupts Shooting Briefing to Confront Texas Governor

An angered Patrick criticized O'Rourke for the interruption, telling him he was"out of line" and calling him a"sick son of a b----" for trying to make a"political issue" of the shooting.

As O'Rourke was escorted out of the press conference, he turned around and said: “This is on you until you choose to do something different. This will continue to happen. Somebody needs to stand up for the children of this state or they will continue to be killed just like they were killed in Uvalde yesterday."

Greg Abbott's press conference on the shooting in Uvalde, Texas.Outside the news conference, O'Rourke continued his remarks, telling reporters parents deserve"action" as well as"prayers." He criticizing Abbott for not supporting universal background checks, red flag laws, gun storage laws and a ban on AR-15 and AK-47 firearms.

"The governor talks about mental health," O'Rourke said."It's insane that we allow an 18-year-old to go in and buy an AR-15. What the hell did we think he was going to do with that? This one is on us." Since Abbott became governor in 2015, the state has only gotten more relaxed when it comes to gun laws.

Thanks Beto for speaking truth to power! The men on the stage are owned by and answer to the NRA, not the public who’s children were gunned down. It’s time to take back Texas from these sad excuses of human beings.

Beto saw this before, in his hometown of El Paso at a Walmart store. He's pissed, as we all should be. These were defenseless 7 to 9-year-old kids. Thanks to GregAbbott and txgop, teens can buy assault rifles in Texas with no permit, license, or training required.
