When the Kansas City Chiefs were behind with 13 seconds left in the game, some fans headed for the exits and others turned off their televisions. They missed perhaps the most unbelievable 13 seconds in football history. “I’m a little embarrassed by it.”

Paul Helliker woke up every two hours Sunday night through Monday morning steaming over the ending of the Chiefs-Bills playoff game.

From his couch, he had watched Buffalo take the lead with 13 seconds left, and the retired dock worker didn’t need to watch 13 extra seconds to see his beloved Chiefs lose.

13-year-old student's death renews calls for schools to stock opioid overdose drugA 13-year-old died from an apparent fentanyl overdose at a Connecticut school that didn't have naloxone on hand. Their death has renewed calls for schools to stock and administer the opioid overdose reversal drug. Jesus 13? Was it an accident? My husband is a teacher at one of Hartford's high schools. When he told me they don't stock naloxone, I was shocked. He said, their theory is, if they don't stock it, they won't need it. He shook his head, I shook my head. Just another day in Hartford. Legalize drugs! Provide help centers in areas populated by drug users. Clean needles. Drug addiction should be treated no differently than alcohol addiction. Better approach, saves tax $'s (no judges, no cops, fewer deaths). It's compassionate and civilized.
