Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, and mix just until combined. Gently fold in blueberries and almonds . Spoon batter into cups of the prepared muffin pan. Sprinkle additional 2 tablespoons of almonds on top of the batter, if desired. Bake until the tops are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 20 minutes.
