Millions of Americans will start running out of pandemic unemployment benefits in just two weeks, putting increased pressure on the Senate to quickly pass its version of President Biden's $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package.

The jobless payments are among the first federal lifelines from December's $900 billion stimulus package set to expire, with additional provisions for expanded paid sick and family leave, small businesses, food stamps, housing protections and other relief lapsing in the following weeks and months. The Senate is set this week to begin considering the massive package that passed the House early Saturday morning, largely along party lines.

The payments were eventually sent out retroactively, but some of those who still qualify for the pandemic programs have yet to be reenrolled. In California, for instance, it may take until March 7 for everyone to be able to certify their eligibility for the federal benefits. What else is expiringUnemployment benefits are not the only assistance that's lapsing in coming weeks and months.

The Republican's are trying to stall as much as they are allowed to get away with , but it is just that a way of trying to stop the Dem's from helping the taxpayers in trouble , because it will proove everything Trump and the Rep's said about the Dem's to be plain BS and LIES .

How many millions and how long have they been getting UCI maybe if we open up the economy they can go back to work instead of stay on UCI just a thought

There are millions who weren’t eligible for unemployment and they have needed help for a whole year.

How much of the $1.9 is Covid related. Have the guts to give us the answer CNN?

Less than 10% of the Covid relief bill actually goes to Americans. Biden is failing us badly. He drove up drug prices, re-opened the migrant kids detention centers that Trump closed 2 years ago and cancelled a program to deport illegal convicted sexual pedo predators. Thanks Joe!

Citizen Democrats! Get it done! No compromise! No apology! Power to the people! Never forget. Never forgive. 2022 is coming.

Get rid of all the bullshit in the bill and it will pass, with flying colors.

It's time for all of them to get back to work

Pass it Please

And so many never even received it.

Let’s just nuk ourselves. Time to give up.

Get it going. Too many people will be in trouble soon. GOP didn't do anything to handle the pandemic. Dems can get things done and that is important!

As a honest Cardinals fan I think I speak for all cardinals fans when I say we don’t want JJ Watt he’s washed, he is weak and he never gets sacks. This signing is the reason im leaving and going to root for the football team where they know how to run a franchise.
