What was your favorite ever Mac? The cylindrical Mac Pro? The Mac mini? What about the old white plastic MacBook? Well, you can take a trip down memory lane with a hidden Mac museum that’s stashed away inside every Mac.earlier this week, every modern Mac includes a folder of graphics that contains images of almost every Mac that’s been released since the turn of the century.
This hidden folder is used to create the icons in Apple’s networking menus, so that your current Mac shows a picture of the correct machine if it detects another Mac on the same network. The folder contains some classics from Mac hardware history, including my personal favorite, the domed iMac G4, which actually celebrated its 20th anniversary this week!Although for sheer wow factor, the black cylindrical Mac Pro - which looked a bit like Darth Vader’s food blender - is hard to beat.
