A statue of US President Theodore Roosevelt that sat in front of a New York museum for nearly 80 years was removed this week after criticism over its"racial" image.
The sculpture, which was located at the American Museum of Natural History, featured the 26th president on horseback with a Native American man and an African man on either side of him.A museum spokesperson told CNN in a written statement on Thursday the process of removing the statue was"conducted with historic preservation specialists and approved by multiple New York City agencies". It will include a restoration of the plaza in front of the museum.
Good riddance. How about replacing it with a statue of Theodore Roosevelt with his foot on the neck of John D Rockefeller?
We can't even make it a century without history being offensive. But most of yall follow that Bible like it itself hasn't been changed in the thousands of years in existence. Smh, its almost hysterical
This is so hypocrite, this is history. You can’t remove history. Learn from it and educate people, that’s more important.
I am all for removing confederate monuments. They shouldn’t have been there to begin with. But this is asinine. Who next, Washington, Lincoln, or hell, why not Jesus?
