Lotte New York Palace is partnering with Swedish luxury bed maker, Hästens, to bring a perfect night’s sleep to an all new level. Here's what it’s like to experience the Ultimate Sleep Suite.
Tanya KlichCan you put a price on a good night’s sleep?Lotte New York Palace is teaming up with Hästens—a fifth-generation, family-owned Swedish luxury bed maker—to unveil a specialized suite and bespoke sleep experience. Starting at $10,000 a night, the package offers guests a “Sleep Curator” to customize their hotel stay and the opportunity to slumber on a Hästens mattress that retails for $200,000.
As I stepped into theon the hotel’s 43rdfloor last Wednesday evening, the scent of lavender filled the kitchen and dining room as staff prepared for the cocktail reception celebrating the launch of the premier wellness experience. Representatives from both the five-star hotel and the Swedish brand welcomed me to the master bedroom to see the Vividus, the most expensive mattress sold by
Hästens. Sanja Tegeltija, head of communications at Hästens, tells me it takes 350 hours of manual labor at the company’s atelier in Köping to complete a single order. Only nine of the company’s artisans are trained and qualified to craft the Vividus.

The Hästens 2000T Down Quilt is made with 100% Mazurian goose down (not marshmallow cream) encased in 100% batiste cotton. The down cover is just the cherry on top. I wanted to experience the actual mattress. But with teams from both companies watching me while I lay in bed, I became uncomfortable trying to get comfortable. They welcomed me back for the weekend to experience the Sleep Suite in complete solitude, including a signature sleep consultation prior to my stay.
A Call From My Sleep CuratorOn Thursday morning, while at work, I received a call from Rachel, my Sleep Curator from Lotte, to discuss my sleep preferences, including temperature, number of pillows, pillow firmness, pajama size and slipper size. Curators also offer nutritional recommendations and teas that contribute to a good night’s sleep—and pretty much anything I need to create the perfect ecosystem for relaxation.
Checking In For The WeekendLotte New York PalaceLotteI check into the Lotte New York Palace at 8:30 am on Saturday and head to the special reception for The Towers, a separate section of Lotte occupying the top 14 floors. Tower guests have access to a dedicated team of Les Clefs d’Or concierge services, as well as a 24/7 butler, Maybach car service, packing and unpacking services, 24-hour dining and more. They send me to the same Hästens Sleep Suite on the 43
rdfloor where the morning sun illuminates the open-concept kitchen, dining and living rooms. The furniture is understated in beiges and creams, creating classic Madison and Park Avenue-style accommodations. The art accents are modern yet quiet.
