In principle, these ideas make some sense; no one wants borrowers taking on more debt than they can manage to repay.
Congress likely will not provide most of the funding levels and policy changes the Trump administration requests. But no one should underestimate how the language around excessive or abusive student loan borrowing—and associated efforts to quash those alleged behaviors—will wind up harming the very students who need these dollars most.

Yes they are. Along with a lot of other people. Like - Jobs that have no business requiring degrees but do - Schools telling students they won't amount to anything without college - Gov for making loans so easy to get - Colleges, as most are a scam and pointless.
She's right! I never thought I'd say it. The reason is that government is funding education and as a result it increases costs. Really simple... just look at costs over time and government involvement. government is not the answer to our problems, government IS the problem.
I beg to differ. A HS student in my town chose to leave the state to go to UC Boulder 'for the mountains.' Now she's looking at $100K+ in student loans and a degree in psychology. Some students are to blame.
