Earlier this week, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that, as of Tuesday, January 26, all air passengers ages two and older must show proof of a negative Covid-19 test to enter the United States.

How far in advance can I get tested before entering the country?CDC spokesperson Caitlin Shockey says that if you are flying on a connecting flight into the US, a valid test is one that is taken no more than three days before your flight departs to the United States but only if the entire trip was booked under a single passenger record.

It doesn't matter when you left, according to Shockey: If you are returning to the US on or after January 26, you will have to be tested and show proof of being Covid-19 negative before being allowed to board.No. US territories and possessions of the US are exempt, according to the CDC.It depends on your insurance plan, says Zach Honig, the editor at large of the travel site The Points Guy.

Airlines must confirm the negative test result for all passengers before boarding and must deny boarding to anyone who doesn't provide documentation of a negative test or documentation of having recovered from Covid-19, according to the CDC. "It may be difficult for an agent to read the document on your phone, and you don't want to give them an excuse not to board you," he says.If you've recovered from Covid-19 within the past three months, you will need both proof that you tested positive in the past three months before your flight and a letter from your doctor stating that you're cleared for travel.

You can find a testing location by asking your hotel in advance of your trip or checking the destination's official tourism site.

Better late than never I guess

This should’ve have been put in place last year when this shit started. 😤

Unless you come across the Mexican border by foot.

Agreed

Why not the same requirement for those who travel WITHIN the United States?

After a year of this madness, this is now a requirement?

This will disproportionately affect people of color who cannot access the vaccine in their own countries...

Not for me

The irony is that those passengers would be safer from COVID almost anywhere than the US.

A 78 yr old man campaigned from his basement Picks one of the most unpopular VP’s Receives the most votes of any candidate in history at 4am Confirmed in the middle of the night An empty inauguration 20,000 troops to protect him & nobody can question any part of it Wow.

That’s fake and so was the election. Fraud, fraud and fraud.

Shouldn’t that have been in place months ago

They should

This is what we needed from day 1!!!

Why isn’t it January 16?

Once again, I woke up with filled anxiety, anger & sadness from being sexually assaulted & repeatedly victimized for 3 years straight. All I want is justice so i can heal & move on with my life! WILL YOU PLEASE HELP ME FBI/FBIPHOENIX/THEJUSTICEDEPT INVESTIGATION?

Why now? so late!

No-one in their right mind would want to enter the USA. 🤦‍♂️

why not everyone ?

How about proof of vaccination?

Oh really, how arse about face is that, surely they should be discouraging the negatives from entering the US to avoid infecting them. Hey you can't get into our swimming pool with wet swimsuits.

AstraZeneca delays filing for US authorization of COVID shotAstraZeneca said Friday that it intends to seek U.S. authorization for its COVID-19 vaccine in the “coming weeks,' acknowledging a delay in the much-anticipated filing that had been expected by mid-April. The company said it was continuing to work on its application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, noting the “substantial size of the file' that will include data from U.S. trials as well all other studies completed so far and real-world data collected from use of the vaccine in other countries. Among the issues that will likely be addressed are indications that the vaccine is linked to rare blood clots, particularly in younger people.
