Lindsay and I had met working on a short film in Montana calledShe was one of the horse trainers. Myself and everyone on the crew fell in love with her. After we made the film and heard what was going on in her life, I felt really connected to some of the pain she was going through. The journey of being a young person in Montana dealing with the isolation and mental health — just all the struggles that are a part of life.
I couldn’t believe it. I’ve never thought of myself as anything other than just like … less. Nothing. To hear someone say that I’m worth it, that I’m worth putting time and effort into. It was really crazy.: Were you hesitant at all to talk about your mental health on film? How did you feel about sharing that?I was definitely a little hesitant. It took a lot to really figure out how to word it, how exactly to explain it. But I think eventually it really clicked.
