They started to introduce me around and the rest is history. Everyone I have worked with since coming here has been amazing. Queer artists are changing the game and I feel so lucky to have a front row seat for this moment. It is so cool to see artists collaborating and encouraging each other to make more art.For the last 7 years, my husband and I managed a hair salon in NYC before deciding to head west to make it on our own.
Working as an artist, no matter your medium, is hard on your body. It's emotional and demanding, and you want to push yourself to do more than you thought you could. I'm learning as I get older that you really do need to take care of your body.The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the look on someone's face when they know they look fierce. It doesn't matter if it's a pop star on set for a music video or a person getting a haircut in my chair, the feeling is the same.
