The Flight Attendant Season 2 Casts Sharon Stone As Kaley Cuoco's Mother

HBO Max's The Flight Attendant casts Sharon Stone in a major season 2 role: Kaley Cuoco's mom. Originally intended to be a limited series based on author Chris Bohjalian's standalone novel, The Flight Attendant took off in late 2020 and swiftly became then-nascent streamer HBO Max's first major original hit. As a result, it was greenlit for a season 2 amid critical acclaim and surprise awards nominations.

Going into season 2, The Flight Attendant will retain some of season 1's elements while offering up a brand new story. Cassie is sober and living in LA while moonlighting as a CIA asset. While on an assignment overseas, she witnesses a murder, thus sending her on another wild investigation. Several cast members from The Flight Attendant season 1 will return, including Zosia Mamet, Rosie Perez, and T.R. Knight. New series regulars for season 2 include Mo McRae, Callie Hernandez, and J.

Lisa's frustrations with Cassie's alcoholism should make for an interesting conflict in The Flight Attendant season 2. Cassie is sober now, which gives the impression that she has the power to now repair her relationships, much like she did with her brother in season 1. However, Cuoco hinted Cassie won't have the easiest time now that she's sober, and even said she will instead make"all the wrong decisions on what you’re not supposed to do when you become sober.

Story possibilities aside, Stone's casting is pitch-perfect. Stone has built a career upon playing compelling femme fatales, and while The Flight Attendant perhaps isn't a traditional noir, it's still fitting that it has recruited Stone for a season 2 role. It'll be interesting to see how her character collides with Cuoco's. There are still many questions to be answered, including what event brings them back together again.
