In a new comic, The Flash is teaming up with Batman as Ezra Miller's DCEU speedster's adventures will continue in a three-issue series serving as a prelude to the character's upcoming film. On Thursday, DC Comics revealed The Flash will be getting a prelude comic starring Miller's flash training alongside Batman and fighting a new threat, the villain Girder.
Ezra Miller first played Barry Allen in Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in the DCEU, with the speedster's origin condensed in the later Justice League team-up film. However, the movie kept the most common elements of Barry's origin, including the hero becoming a forensic scientist to prove his falsely imprisoned father innocent of his mother's murder, gaining powers after being struck by lightning, and his ensuing connection to the Speed Force.
It seems Ben Affleck's Batman will be assisting and training Barry Allen, although the press release from DC Comics doesn't mention the actor by name but does say it's Miller's version of The Flash. It's exciting to see the DCEU and DC Comics work together in telling a story that exists in both universes simultaneously. Hopefully, this is the start of other preludes and stories set in the film's universe coming to the comics. The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive will continue Ezra Miller's Flash story just before his 2022 feature film comes to theaters in November. Readers can pick up the canon The Flash miniseries when issue one arrives in comic book stores on April 26, 2022. .
