The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are going to America

Prince William revealed that he will be making his way to America for Earthshot's second annual awards ceremony next year

The royal kicked off the sustainability competition last weekend, bringing together experts to conceptualise concrete plans to tackle our world's most pressing environmental matters.following Sunday's inaugural awards ceremony. 'I'm thrilled that in 2022, The Earthshot Prize will be heading to the United States, where we will continue to spread this vital message of urgency, optimism and action.'William added that 'the urgency of the situation can't be overstated.

Speaking on the future, he said: 'Seeing the incredible solutions that have been developed by the first winners of the prize — and all of our finalists — shows us that the answers are out there. By recognising these efforts and supporting and scaling them to be the best they can be, we can inspire the confidence that a healthier, more sustainable future is within our grasp.'

The last time William and the Duchess of Cambridge made a Stateside visit was in 2014 with a trip to New York, according to. The upcoming trip will also mark the first time the couple are in the same country as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their decision to step down as senior working royals almost two years ago. Harry and Meghan have also vocalised the importance of global conservation efforts and working toward a 'greener' society.
