House Democrats launched Phase Two of their impeachment case to the Senate today: the constitutional argument for why President Trump should be removed from office

on Thursday: the constitutional argument for why President Donald Trump should be removed from office.

“Impeachment is the Constitution's final answer to a president who mistakes himself as a king,” Nadler said. Trump’s alleged misconduct “puts even President Nixon to shame,” he added. Garcia’s presentation included video clips of the witnesses who testified before House impeachment investigators last year, all of whom said Biden’s efforts to push out the former top Ukrainian prosecutor were in accordance with official U.S. policy. Garcia also made the case that Trump only undertook the alleged effort to pressure the Ukrainians until Biden jumped into the presidential race and presented a formidable challenge to Trump.

Trump brought Alan Dershowitz, a criminal defense attorney and former Harvard law professor, onto his legal team to push back against the idea that a president can be removed from office without being accused of a statutory crime. Specifically, Dershowitz has said that impeachable conduct should be “criminal-like.”“Frankly, that argument itself is terrifying,” Nadler said. “It confirms that this president sees no limit on his power.

“He couldn't even go to Jonathan Turley, their expert in the House, for an opinion. No, they had to go outside of these experts, outside of constitutional law, to a criminal defense lawyer and professor,” Schiff said. “And why? Because they can't contest the facts.”

How can House member that believe President Trump in a member of the KKK & is a White Supremacist Nazi be fair arbortor?

Here’s an idea. Why doesn’t every American who understands that “right matters” walk up & pin a whitefeather on every gop member who refuses to see the truth & danger in the moment & chooses their party & jobs over their country. NOT ONE CAN DO RIGHT. RepAdamSchiff is a hero!

Trump should do everything in his power to get Biden the nomination. Poor How doesn't know where he is half the time, beating him would be a cake walk.

TheRickWilson CBS News reports GOP Senators warned by Trump team: 'Vote against the president, and your head will be on a pike.' Even if WH says statement made ONLY figuratively or illustratively, how & why are such threats of violence acceptable?

So far a dud

Sen. Klobuchar: Why would GOP senators attend trial 'if they're not gonna protect the Constitution'During a break in the Senate impeachment proceedings, Sen. Amy Klobuchar expressed frustration at the continued opposition to witnesses from Republicans and Trump's defense. Of senators who appeared to be sleeping or looking away during proceedings, Klobuchar said, 'I just don’t know why they would have this job and come here if they’re not gonna protect the Constitution.' Sen. Risch was asleep for the majority of Rep. Demings' presentation. When Jay Sekulow took the stand, speaking audibly louder, Risch was jolted awake. Well they will be sent packing. Soon enough. Avg age of US Senators: 61.8. Not enough Geritol to go around.
