Pro-democracy demonstrators rallied again in Thailand, undeterred by arrest warrants and threats of violent attacks. There’s concern that if the government feels it cannot control the protests, it may impose martial law or be ousted by the army in a coup.

Protesters flash LED lights from their mobile phones during a rally Friday, Nov. 27, 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand. Pro-democracy demonstrators are continuing their protests calling for the government to step down and reforms to the constitution and the monarchy, despite legal charges being filed against them and the possibility of violence from their opponents or a military crackdown.

Their issue concerning the monarchy is the most controversial because the royal institution by law and tradition is virtually untouchable, and regarded by many as the bedrock of national identity. The military has declared defense of the monarchy to be among its foremost duties. Historically, defending the monarchy has been abused for political reasons. It has also triggered violence, most notably in 1976, when it led to the killings of dozens of students at a university protest against the return from exile of an ousted military dictator. That event was the trigger for a coup, and since then Thailand has had successful coups in 1977, 1991, 2006 and 2014.

Panupong “Mike Rayong” Jadnok urged both symbolic and actual resistance in case the military tried a takeover. “If a coup is staged, please tie a white ribbon in front of your house. If they take it away, we will just tie one back on again,” he said.

Thailand has no future unless there is change. Think about why these student are being arrested and face 15 years of jail time just for voicing an opinion.

Under any other administration, I would have said we would be helping this movement. Covertly. Not the present one. He sees no benefit in helping anyone other than himself.

Let’s hope there isn’t another junta. Do they ever really work out?

Isn’t the Thai government already the military?

These are just small signs of the times we're living in...so much more that still needs to happen...

I knew it, as soon as tRump falls, pro democracy protests will begin all over the world.

I'm watching this live news station that's in Thailand right now. And it's 11:43am with the sun shining bright over there. But here in Colorado it's 9:43pm & it's dark as can be. And so now I'm asking myself this question, How can this be happening on a flat earth?

Only the center of the Pharaonic order receives the warnings and the union in general.

Donald Trump will go down in history as the first American president to have willingly betrayed his own country in service to a foreign enemy. His acts of treason will be taught in history books for generations to come, and the name “Trump” will become synonymous with treachery.
