Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton appealed a district judge’s decision to block the state law while a legal challenge continues against it.

A federal appeals court on Wednesday reinstated a Republican-backed Texas law that prohibits large social media companies from banning users over their political viewpoints. The decision hands a win to Republicans who have long criticized social media platforms such as Twitter for what they call anti-conservative bias — disapproval that was amplified when President Donald Trump was banned from Twitter for violating the platform’s rules on inciting violence during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The order did not evaluate the law on its constitutionality but instead allows the law to go back into effect while the case proceeds in district court, according to a from one of the plaintiff groups. The ruling came from a three-judge panel on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals — which is often considered the most conservative appeals court in the country — and was not accompanied by a written opinion explaining the decision at the time of publication. to block the law last fall.

Wonder why the texas leadership continues to complain and file suit on federal issues and other non-texas problems while absolutely ignoring major texas issues like ERCOT, the excessive shootings and deaths, etc.

Ken Paxton also took away our IG filters. Egregious!!

Conservatives’ school board victories could give Texas GOP momentum for November elections, 2023 legislative sessionConservative school board candidates who support restricting how race-related issues can be discussed in classrooms saw victories across Texas on Saturday, emboldening state Republicans who are increasingly getting involved in nonpartisan local elections. Great, the Klan is going to decide how kids learn. Until Abbott finishes challenging the 1982 free public education SCOTUS decision, then Republicans will just opt to only educate white boys. There is no such thing as nonpartisan. There never was. All it means is no political affiliation is shown on the ballot next to a candidate. As if school's weren't bad enough with GQP's constant assault on education. Now they wanna take a hands-on approach to destroying education. And they've duped people into thinking this is for their own good. 😂
