The Supreme Court ruled that the structure of the agency that oversees mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is unconstitutional. The justices sent the case involving Federal Housing Finance Agency back to a lower court for more proceedings.

I will NEVER buy the BS that this SCOTUS is not partisan no matter how many times other dems disagree or block me for saying this but they’re NOT bipartisan or moderate. The VRA case coming up in July will truely test if they’re partisan or not. I doubt they will let it live.

Can “supreme” justices spend their time on something that’ll make a difference in people’s lives that’s actually meaningful? For the most part cases sent to & accepted by the Supreme Court are simply constitutional tests. Run it up the flagpole. Literally.

Good. The federal takeover of Fannie and Freddie was not warranted at all. Both had billions in reserves and their book of business was not full of subprime garbage like Wall Street firms. It was a power grab by the Republicans and Bush who wanted them under their thumb.
