NEW: The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal from Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple who pointed guns at Black Lives Matter protesters in 2020.

The court stayed the suspension on the condition they serve a year's probation.to the Supreme Court, the couple argued that the court violated their Second Amendment rights and denied them their rights under the due process clause of the Constitution.

They argued they were "exercising lawful rights to bear arms in defense of their person, family, and home."They had pleaded guilty in June 2021 to one count of fourth-degree assault after pointing guns at anti-racism protesters outside of their home in St. Louis, but they were later pardoned by Missouri's governor.

After the rioter’s ripped off their front gate (property damage) then the mass of rioter threatened them and their dog. Stating they would kill them and their dog . Why? The McCloskey’s have a right to protect life and their property.

In the picture, if you look closely, neither of the McCloskey's guns are pointed at the BLM protesters. They were simply giving them a warning.

They were defending their from a mob who belong to a domestic terrorist organization. I am very disappointed with the SCOTUS refusing to address their plea.

St Louis has more gun crime & lawlessness than this to worry about. McCloskey's actions had consequences providing lesson to law abiding folks. Criminals displaying or using guns to commit crime get excuses made by St Louis mayor taking trips on taxpayer dollars to fight crime.

How can this be justice? I definitely would have acted the same. What about the BLM protesters? Guess they were cleared of any wrong doing, if even inquired? Sad!

You can bet that that Supreme Ct. were liberals. The decision mot to hear their appeal is disgusting & wrong. This couple did nothing wrong! They defended their home as anyone would! How about the BLM mob. Would these justices like that mob at their home? The BLM mob was wrong

So a year probation & they want to appeal.

Sons a bitches they know dam well these people have every right to defend them selves

It's the little things in life that are precious.

The couple shows the crazy of their foolishness to the protesters as a white is different from a black through their mindset of humanity while black protesters were not near them or properties during the protest

😂

How dare you defend your property against Black people LOL

Cosplay Mr and Mrs Smith are now the Who

Well that’s something then.

DennisCardiff Pleasing.

Those people are heroes 👏

Arrrggh!!

You accidentally left a few words out of your headline. Here: 'who pointed guns at BLM protesters that broke down a gate and approached their house during the riots in 2020.' Fixed it for you.

Great 👍

Amazing. Did they not see their photos? Should have been a slam dunk with this court?

The Child is happy.

These folks are likekyle rittenhouse in that they brandish firearms as the protesters walk about and mills near their property in a peaceful act. Kyletook 2 men lives and shot a third leaving a permanent injury/conditions- paralyzed.

th should have stayed inside their house an if any of them broke in then shoot em, cant go outside and point guns at people

That's a pleasant surprise.

What a world, you can't even point your guns at people walking past your house and scream obscenities at them anymore.

Hmmmm you know what’s more threatening than BLM walking past your place with OMG signs….is others with tiki torches yelling “Jews will not replace us!!”

Thank God! You can’t just pull your stupid guns out if you don’t like something. Get off my lawn! 🖕🏻🖕🏻

Really, the highest court in the land won't hear their plea? 🙄 I am so surprised, maybe pointing guns dressed as the hambuglar and her goon wasn't the best idea 🤣🤣🤣 If they weren't wearing those outfits this would have never happened 😏

It wasn’t a protest - they were trespassing after breaking into a private neighborhood and threatening the homeowners - facts matter….

Good news is plentiful today🖐

As lawyers they should know that their state supreme court has exclusive jurisdiction over the regulation of the practice of law in their state. But if they’re shitty lawyers, maybe not.

They had a right to protect their property and lives from rioters. Deport the court.

Will they protect their Property full time!

I wonder how differently the story would read if a miffed crowd of white pants and pink polos were marching down the street in a rough area and a young, tattooed couple came out of their trailer waving guns at the crowd?

She was SO close to killing her husband

Two total idiots and clowns — and Republican heroes.

These people were lawyers?!

Have democrats or Axios contrbuted any money to the Business's BLM burned down ?

Those people are ridiculous. What a shameful legacy. Forever a gun-toting parody. What sane person would hire them as their lawyers? What kind of judgement do these clowns have, to think this was a good idea? 😬

Finally a good decision. Let the States deal with their nonsense and stop relying on scotus for their idiotic stances as if they were grownups.

Gravy seals, Mayonnaise Militia

deray Meanwhile he’s using this photo on campaign billboards

What a surprise, I guess the Supreme Court doesn't want to be used in a Republican culture war this time, that would be a little too obvious.

They were pardoned.. what did they appeal?

bahahhahah

As my case heads to the Supreme Court, I am choosing to embrace a legacy of freedomThere’s a human cost when the government fails to protect freedom. It’s a cost I’m familiar with. For almost six years now, I’ve been in court with officials from my home state of Colorado who are trying to take away my freedom of speech and force me to say something I don’t believe. The problem is you don't get to call lies 'opinions' just because no one can prove you knew better. Nor can you call them opinions just because you believe them, despite absolute evidence to the contrary. Republicans are shredding the 1st Amendment.
