The Pew Research Center study looks at viewpoints on the ethical standards of journalists

NEW YORK — It's been true for some time that Republicans are generally more hostile to the news media than Democrats, but a study released Thursday found that's much more the case for supporters of President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, 4% of Democrats who cast themselves as strong opponents to the president said journalists have “very low” standards. “The president's attacks have done some damage,” Fox News anchor Chris Wallace said Wednesday at an event at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. He cited a Freedom Forum Institute poll this year where more than three-quarters of Americans said “fake news” is a serious threat to democracy.

The study didn't address the chicken-or-egg question of whether Trump supporters express these anti-press opinions because the president makes it a constant refrain or because they're already predisposed to believe them.

Trump fans have no hostility toward real journalists. Fake news parrots who just read their 4am talking points, & you all literally read the same wording, are being exposed for being paid shills and/or empty-headed script readers. FactsMatter to everyone but the FakeNewsMedia

Interview with Chris Matthews shows how Trump would handle Clinton impeachmentIn 1998, in the midst of the Clinton impeachment, Chris Matthews asked businessman Donald Trump what his advice would be to President Bill Clinton on impeachment. Here's how he answered. Even then Trump understood politicians bully to get their way. Have to bully back! He’s tough and that’s been good for Americans😎 Not worth waiting for the commercial I agree, Trump during Clinton Impeachment take the 5th, and go after your enemies! Clinton’s too nice of a guy! That’s right, Clinton’s are nice, Trump was exactly saying what he would do himself as now us, called Abuse of Power, Obstruction of Justice, Treason/Brubery, collusion

New national poll shows every prospective 2020 Democratic nominee beating President Donald TrumpA Quinnipiac University survey released Tuesday shows Trump trailing to six Democrats vying for the party's nomination. It's going to be the election that renders 'It's the economy, stupid.' - James Carville obsolete. I expect a landslide victory by almost anyone who runs vs Trump, presuming Trump makes it to the election. Nobody will lose to Donald Trump. 56% say they will never vote for Trump, 13% don’t know, split that 63% say they will never vote Trump. A sack of potatoes will beat Trump in a two party race If done properly, the campaign ads criticizing Trump should devastate him (e.g. siding with Putin over his intel community; rejecting the IG's report on what prompted the Mueller probe; praising the detention centers at the border).
