A 2015 clip brought his past stances to the forefront of the presidential race

in a statement , saying, “This issue and my comments about it do not reflect my commitment to criminal justice reform and racial equity.” But his comments have not silenced the discussion surrounding stop-and-frisk, and it doesn’t seem likely to end any time soon. What is stop-and-frisk? the practice by police officers of stopping someone they suspect might be acting suspiciously or involved in illicit behavior dates back centuries. But the wave of stop-and-frisk as a supported policy began around the 1960s, bolstered by the Supreme Court’s 1968 decision in Terry v. Ohio arrested a Black man named John Terry who had been carrying a concealed weapon, which the officer had found after he stopped and frisked Terry and two other men because he thought they were acting suspiciously. While the policy was implemented at varying levels by police departments across the country in the aftermath of Terry’s case before a class-action lawsuit alleged that New York City police officers unfairly targeted Black people in 1999; Read more: MTV NEWS

Bloomberg: I should've cut back stop and frisk 'faster and sooner'Katy Tur is joined by host of MSNBC’s Politics Nation, Reverend Al Sharpton and New York City public advocate, Jumaane Williams to discuss presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg’s response to his “stop-and-frisk” policy implemented while he was mayor of New York. Let's be honest. We all forgive the politicians we like for their past mistakes and hypocritically bring up every mistake the ones we don't like have ever made. Only the ones we like can change. The ones we don't like are just lying or pandering now. Tribalism at it's best. Ask Williams whether it's Trump or Bloomberg. Because that's going to be the choice. Then STFU. This is such a distraction from what needs to be done. But I think people are starting to catch on to what is actually happening in this country right now!

Inside Bloomberg's 48-hour dash to contain his stop-and-frisk crisisAfter an audio clip of Mike Bloomberg making charged remarks about young black and Latino men unexpectedly surfaced online, the former mayor's vast network kicked into action Ya, well....he hasn't put kids in cages...or put a Muslim ban in place.... Trump lies constantly and gets a pass because the media fears him. Bloomberg quotes FBI statistics and tells the truth, and the media pounces. SO NO BAIL and NO ICE is better

Donald Trump backed 'total racist' Mike Bloomberg's stop-and-frisk policy at 2016 election debateThe president said the ex-New York City mayor's stop-and-frisk approach to gun crime was 'tremendous beyond belief' when he went head-to-head with Hillary Clinton. It’s only racist by insane Liberal standards. In the tape recording Bloomberg merely cited crime statistics...Trump knows this but will still use it to turn crazy Democratic voters against moderate candidates. The POLICY, as do I, NOT Bloomberg's racist remarks corrupt Newsweak... If you think Trump has firm opinions on any issue just wait a minute....

Bloomberg: I should've acted sooner on stop-and-friskWATCH: Facing criticism for the use of stop-and-frisk during his time as mayor of New York, Mike Bloomberg apologizes during an event with African American voters in Houston. If that makes everything OK now, we should be ashamed. When will we stop giving rich people a pass? Bloomberg is NOT what this country needs. We would be replacing one Trump with another Trump. Don’t be blinded by 🎩💰RobberBaron He said it was 5 years ago. Well 5 years isn’t that long ago. Just saying Bloomberg Any candidate care about the white voters?

Bloomberg apologizes for stop-and-frisk policy for the first time on the campaign trail following release of a 2015 tapeMichael Bloomberg apologized for the first time on the campaign trail Thursday for the New York Police Department's 'stop and frisk' policing tactic, which he repeatedly defended while serving as mayor of New York. The apology followed audio from 2015 surfacing earlier this week where Bloomberg is heard describing the policy as a way to reduce violence by throwing minority kids 'up against the walls and frisk them.' lol weak Trump has nothing to apologize for. As people keep pushing the cancel button he keeps apologizing. Funny how that works.
