SundanceTV has renewed its Emmy-winning short-form series 'State of the Union' for a second season

Brendan Gleeson and Patricia Clarkson will star in the next installment of the Emmy-winning short form series.The cabler has renewed its Emmy-winning short form series for a second season. Like the first, it will consist of ten 10-minute episodes, written by Nick Hornby and directed by Stephen Frears .

Brendan Gleeson and Patricia Clarkson will star as the couple who meet up before a marriage counseling session. Esco Jouléy will play a liberal campaigner named Ellen who pulls her more traditional husband out of his comfort zone to a hip Connecticut coffee shop, where they have 10 minutes before their marriage counseling session to gather their thoughts — and argue.

"We are over the moon to be given another opportunity to work with Nick and Stephen on a new season ofwith our friends at SundanceTV," said executive producers Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta of See-Saw Films."We are incredibly happy to welcome Brendan, Patricia and Esco to the team for a new story this season."won three Emmys in 2019, for outstanding short form comedy or drama series and for stars Rosamund Pike and Chris O'Dowd.Iain Canning and Emile Sherman.
