"We're here to pay respects to one of ourDavid Nguyen was driving home to San Francisco from the sheriff's academy in Dublin on Jan. 4 when someone opened fire on his personal vehicle, a Toyota Prius. He was on a MacArthur Maze approach to the Bay Bridge in Oakland when he was shot.
Ahern, the recruit's sister Barbara Nguyen and his girlfriend Shanice Vaughn followed the casket as it was placed into a hearse. A small motorcade escorted his body to a Colma mortuary.
