Macdonald died before the City of Saskatoon was incorporated, and is not known to have had any particular connection to the area. The street bearing his name is located in the Confederation Park neighbourhood, which was devised during a period of patriotic fervour around Canada’s 1967 centennial, and features streets named for former prime ministers and other figures from Canadian history.
