Las Vegas Sands will sell its Las Vegas sites, including the Venetian, for $6.25 billion, as it reinvests in Asia

, which generate most of the company’s revenue. The casino operator in October said it was considering a sale of the assets.

Sands executives have said the company was also considering expansion opportunities in the U.S. in New York and Texas. The company will also explore opportunities in online gambling, President and Chief Operating Officer Patrick Dumont said. “This investment also underscores our conviction in a strong recovery for Las Vegas as vaccines usher in a reopening of leisure and travel in the United States and across the world,” Apollo Partner Alex van Hoek said.

LasVegasLocally The Las Vegas Sands’ owner was Trump’s largest donor.

Where’s MarshaBlackburn ? She loves to squeal about China

Since we now have a POTUS who is going to prosecute money launderers it's understandable that Trump's little buddy Miriam Adelson is running away from the table.

LasVegasLocally It’s all about the money 💰 no more loyalty!

I could say I couldn’t care less but yet I’m commenting. So I care just about enough to state that I commenting on something I really couldn’t care less

No Sands in Vegas!! Another standby gone!! Some memories are good - for real!

The Venetian is the only major hotel in Vegas that is not unionized. Now that Adelson is dead, perhaps the employees at the Venetian can get some respect.

morgfair Who would buy an empty hotel?....sounds like something Trump could fall for.

Vegas isn't gonna last unless they do some major infrastructure upgrades. It's too damn hot and it's only gonna get hotter.

Asia is the future

Makes sense, the American market is tiny in comparison

LasVegasLocally It may be time to change the name of the city to REIT Vegas.

Was in Vegas in 2018 with my family; ate at In-n-Out 10 pm and it was 103 F out. Lived in AZ twice... I know the heat. But what will Vegas be in 20 years? 110 F night. Hmm...

Venetian sucked anyways. Boring casino

Thank you.

Good job las vegas sands . For going to asia ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Money laundering is easier there than here, since Jan 20? Also, the mob never really sells its real estate properties.

Oh

Lol So much for money laundering.......

Feels like Vegas is probably going to be just fine within the year. This had to have been planned for years.

Foolish move. Vegas will be back without them.

They sold their Bethlehem, PA casino years ago. Seems like this was in the works for a while

DemopJ shot in the dark here but...perhaps harder to launder money in Vegas now that Trump's out?

This is the voice of many DVlottery winners (2017 to 2020) who have been DAMAGED by RACISM because of their religion under unjust P.P9645 MuslimBan PLEASE SUPPORT US🙏⚘. POTUS VP SecBlinken StateDept

DemopJ

They need to focus on their homelands 🤦🏽‍♂️
