Sen. Bernie Sanders argued Saturday that raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour isn't"incidental" to the federal budget, despite skepticism from Capitol Hill and the White House of its future in President Joe Biden's Covid-19 relief package.
"I'm very proud of the strong arguments our legal team is making to the parliamentarian that raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour is not 'incidental' to the federal budget and is permissible under the rules of reconciliation," the Vermont independent told CNN on Saturday. Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour stands as the biggest obstacle to getting the President's $1.9 trillion Covid relief bill across the finish line.
I’m all for raising the minimum wage. At this moment families need to feed their kids. Kids need to be in school. Small business need to reopen first.

Keep the TIP CREDIT. Tipped employees make more than $15 an hour. If they do not, then employers are required to offset their pay to guarantee that they make the minimum wage. So why eliminate tip credit. Makes no sense.
One thing nobody talks about is that when $15 goes in effect, alot of other hourly wage employees get a raise also. If most of you people on here understood how businesses work you would understand how this is going to effect all hourly wage employees

Even if the senate parliamentarian rules in his favor the legislation will go down in flames. This is not the action of a responsible Budget Chair. Sanders wants showdowns...and I agree. Let’s get this done before the 2022 midterms.

The relief package should be relief stimulus checks $5,000 adult 2000 a child ect freeze the rent no rent or mortgage payments for 6+ months (for no one) no evictions if it's due to non-payment during the pandemic.. up the minimum wage 15 + make everyone drop their rent
raise it to 15$ doesnt make a difference for the great reset as millions of these mininum wage jobs will be replaced by AI and robots and big corp tech
